This is where we are the summer of 2004, roughly three and one half years after construction began.  Current priorities include sanding sanding and then a little more sanding.  After partially installing some systems only to take them out later, I have decided to complete the airframe before installation of electrical, brakes, engine, etc..

It is much easier to sand the bottom while the fuselage is in the space shuttle position.  I have actually gotten quite good at tilting it back this way.  It will rest on the bottom of the firewall and  outboard wing attach points. You just remember to tie a rope onto the canard bulkhead so you can get it back down again.
