Many of you whom visited this site before noticed an engine section dealing with the installation of a rotary engine in the aircraft.  After much thought I decided to go a different route.  This was not due to deciding against the rotary, but in deciding in favor of a horsepower weight combination closer to what Rutan intended.  The rotary was going to come in at about the same weight and horsepower as a lycoming 360.  I think the rotary is a great way to go if that is your target horsepower.  However, I chose to stick with a 290 or 320 lycoming like the majority of Longs out there.   Call me a traditionalist if you will.
